Psalm Front Page
Introduction
These are Creator Guidelines for making the front page of the Psalm that will be presented to Bible translation teams. The different "blocks" are defined in Psalm 19, which will work successfully if the following properties and images are set.
Steps
Overview properties
Within the main Psalm page, there needs to be a section that looks like this:
{{Overview |Chapter=8 |Exegesis Status=Complete |Verse Count=10 |Memorable Phrase=How majestic is your name |Memorable Icon=Psalm 008 - icon.jpg |Purpose=To praise YHWH for his majesty throughout all the earth. |Content=Your name is majestic in all the earth! You bestow your glory on the heavens above, and you bestow glory on weak humans below. |Message=YHWH's majesty is revealed in weakness. |Author=David |Background Ideas=<ul><li>The common practice of kings and lords is to accrue glory for themselves, not to bestow it upon others. </li><li> YHWH gave dominion to (i.e., bestowed glory on) the sun, moon, and stars (Gen. 1:16-18; Ps 136:8-9), which are associated with heavenly beings (cf. Job 38:7; Rev. 1:20; cf. [https://archive.org/details/the-context-of-scripture/page/n309/mode/2up?view=theater COS I:181]). </li><li> YHWH created humans as his image and gave them universal dominion (cf. Gen. 1:26ff). </li><li> YHWH promised to give David's dynasty universal dominion (cf. Pss 2; 72; 89; 110). </li><li> "Portrayal of man in his paradisal splendour was especially linked in the ancient world with the royal office" ([https://archive.org/details/the-context-of-scripture/page/n309/mode/2up?view=theater Eaton 1967:45]). </li><li> Wild animals are sometimes used to depict the enemies of God's people (e.g., Pss 7:3; 10:9; 17:12; 22:13, 17, 22; 80:14; cf. Daniel 6-7). </li><ul> }}
This should largely exist for all Psalms that have been uploaded to the wiki, but the Exegesis Status, Verse Count and Background Ideas will need to be added and asterisks replaced with HTML. Any <ref>...</ref> parts need to be removed.
HTML explained (an "unordered list" filled with list items):
<ul> <li>first item</li> <li>second item</li> <li>additional item</li> </ul>
Videos
In the main Psalms page this section must also exist (and replace the old Videos section):
{{PsalmVideos |Overview Video = EbgZuSHIXgU |Poetic Features Video = XcRob_g2g2Q |Exegetical Issues Video = L5-NpONilOs }}
The content of each is what comes after the v= part of a youtube link and before the &list= part.
Images
The following images need to exist on the wiki (replacing the 8 with your psalm number):
- Psalm 8 - At a Glance.jpg
- Psalm 8 - Background Situation.jpg
- Psalm 8 - Speech Act Summary.jpg
- Psalm 8 - Emotional Analysis Summary.jpg
- Psalm 8 - Participant Analysis Summary.jpg
- Psalm 8 - Repeated Roots Summary.jpg
- Psalm 8 - Story Behind Summary.jpg
If these images already exist but with a different name, you may specify override filenames by typing "Psalm #" (e.g. Psalm 1) in this box and clicking Enter Override Filenames.
Translation Aids
The following files need to exist on the wiki (replacing the 8 with your psalm number):
- Psalm 8 - Translation Challenges.pdf
If they exist but with a different name, you may specify an override above.
