I am close to death. And if I die, I will not be able to praise you, for your name is not mentioned in the deep and far-removed place where the dead reside. In the dark, dismal, and silent underworld called Sheol, no one can express recognition of all that you have done. For in the place of the dead, your name is not mentioned. In Sheol, who can praise you? For, in death, you are not named.
In Sheol, who can give you praise?

May all of my enemies, who have opposed you by opposing me, your anointed, be justly shamed and dismayed, just as I was shamed and dismayed. May they go back to where they came!
