"Ascribe strength to God!" He scatters his enemies and they submit to him. He delivers his people and provides for them. +
"Do not rebuff your anointed one!" David made a vow to YHWH, and he ''kept'' it. And YHWH made a vow to DAvid, and he ''will keep'' it. +
''People:'' "Bless YHWH, all servants of YHWH!" <br>''Priests:'' "May YHWH bless (each one of) you, too!" +
Acknowledge YHWH's supremacy, divine beings! YHWH reigned over the Flood, and YHWH continues to reign! +
As creator of the earth, YHWH established boundaries for both creation and his covenant. As true Jacob, we may now ascend his mountain and welcome YHWH into his temple as triumphant king. +
Because you are afflicting me, YHWH, I am dying. Save me! Even if you do not, I will keep praying. +
Bless us, God, so the nations will know you and all the nations (including Israel) will worship you. +
David claims to be upright, petitions YHWH fordeliverance, describes his enemies' wickedness, and asksYHWH to provide for his people and that he may see YHWH's face. +
Despite the crushing seas' attempts to overthrow him, YHWH's throne is stable. His royal decrees are trustworthy. +
Evildoers devour people and do not call on YHWH, but YHWH is the refuge of the oppressed. +
Flee, because we are under attack, and YHWH will not protect us, the righteous. But I have sought refuge in YHWH, because YHWH is righteous, and he will protect the righteous. +
Give thanks to YHWH for he is good, for his loyalty is forever! From a tight place I cried out to YHWH, and YHWH answered me with spaciousness. +
God cares for his people. That is why God is our refuge, even if God's city is threatened by enemies, and even if the earth quakes and the sea roars. +
God delivered Israel's favored ancestors. Israel, who has been faithful to the covenant, should also experience that favor. However, the reality is that God has been causing defeat and humiliation. Israel wrestles with this reality, and pleads for deliverance according to God's faithfulness. +
God is a righteous judge. He saves the upright, and he brings the end to the wicked's violence. +
Happy is the one who fears YHWH! He will be blessed, and he will be a blessing to others. +
Hear my cry for help, lest I die! Bring justice!Blessed be YHWH for he has heard me! He is the one who repays the wicked for their deeds and who protects his people. +
Help YHWH! No one is trustworthy. You alone can be trusted, and you have promised to help. +
