לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ לְדָוִ֗ד מִזְמ֥וֹר שִֽׁיר׃ 1a For the director By David A Psalm A Song
יָק֣וּם אֱ֭לֹהִים יָפ֣וּצוּ אוֹיְבָ֑יו 2a God arises, his enemies scatter;
וְיָנ֥וּסוּ מְ֝שַׂנְאָ֗יו מִפָּנָֽיו׃ 2b and those who hate him flee from his presence.
כְּהִנְדֹּ֥ף עָשָׁ֗ן תִּ֫נְדֹּ֥ף 3a As smoke is driven away, so you drive [them] away.
כְּהִמֵּ֣ס דּ֭וֹנַג מִפְּנֵי־אֵ֑שׁ 3b As wax melts before a fire,
יֹאבְד֥וּ רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים מִפְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃ 3c so the wicked perish before God.
וְֽצַדִּיקִ֗ים יִשְׂמְח֣וּ יַֽ֭עַלְצוּ לִפְנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִ֗ים 4a But the righteous exult joyfully before God;
וְיָשִׂ֥ישׂוּ בְשִׂמְחָֽה׃ 4b and they rejoice with a joyful sound.
שִׁ֤ירוּ ׀ לֵֽאלֹהִים֮ זַמְּר֪וּ שְׁ֫מ֥וֹ 5a Sing to God! Sing praise to his name!
סֹ֡לּוּ לָרֹכֵ֣ב בָּ֭עֲרָבוֹת בְּיָ֥הּ שְׁמ֗וֹ 5b Bank up [a way] for the one who rides through the desert—his name is Yah—
וְעִלְז֥וּ לְפָנָֽיו׃ 5c and celebrate before him—
אֲבִ֣י יְ֭תוֹמִים וְדַיַּ֣ן אַלְמָנ֑וֹת 6a father of orphans, and judge of widows
אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים בִּמְע֥וֹן קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ 6b God is in his holy dwelling place.
אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ מ֘וֹשִׁ֤יב יְחִידִ֨ים ׀ בַּ֗יְתָה 7a God is the one who settles the desolate in a house,
מוֹצִ֣יא אֲ֭סִירִים בַּכּוֹשָׁר֑וֹת 7b who skilfully releases prisoners.
אַ֥ךְ ס֝וֹרְרִ֗ים שָׁכְנ֥וּ צְחִיחָֽה׃ 7c Rebels, however, dwell in a parched land.
אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים בְּ֭צֵאתְךָ לִפְנֵ֣י עַמֶּ֑ךָ 8a God, when you went out before your people,
בְּצַעְדְּךָ֖ בִֽישִׁימ֣וֹן סֶֽלָה׃ 8b when you marched through the wilderness, selah,
אֶ֤רֶץ רָעָ֨שָׁה ׀ 9a The earth quaked
אַף־שָׁמַ֣יִם נָטְפוּ֮ 9b and the heavens also poured
מִפְּנֵ֪י אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים זֶ֥ה סִינַ֑י 9c before God, the one of Sinai—
מִפְּנֵ֥י אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ 9d before God, the God of Israel.
גֶּ֣שֶׁם נְ֭דָבוֹת תָּנִ֣יף אֱלֹהִ֑ים 10a You would sieve abundant rain, God.
נַחֲלָתְךָ֥ וְ֝נִלְאָ֗ה אַתָּ֥ה כֽוֹנַנְתָּֽהּ׃ 10b [Behold!] your inheritance, wearied! You established it.
חַיָּתְךָ֥ יָֽשְׁבוּ־בָ֑הּ 11a Your living creatures dwelt in it.
תָּ֤כִ֥ין בְּטוֹבָתְךָ֖ לֶעָנִ֣י אֱלֹהִֽים׃ 11b You would prepare [it] for the afflicted with your goodness, God.
אֲדֹנָ֥י יִתֶּן־אֹ֑מֶר 12a The Lord gives a word.
הַֽ֝מְבַשְּׂר֗וֹת צָבָ֥א רָֽב׃ 12b The messengers are a large army.
מַלְכֵ֣י צְ֭בָאוֹת יִדֹּד֣וּן יִדֹּד֑וּן 13a Kings of armies—[these] will flee [and then those] will flee.
וּנְוַת בַּ֝֗יִת תְּחַלֵּ֥ק שָׁלָֽל׃ 13b And the beautiful one of the house will divide the spoil.
אִֽם־תִּשְׁכְּבוּן֮ בֵּ֪ין שְׁפַ֫תָּ֥יִם 14a If you lie down between the borders,
כַּנְפֵ֣י י֭וֹנָה נֶחְפָּ֣ה בַכֶּ֑סֶף 14b the dove’s wings are covered with silver,
וְ֝אֶבְרוֹתֶ֗יהָ בִּֽירַקְרַ֥ק חָרֽוּץ׃ 14c and its pinions with the yellow of gold.
בְּפָ֘רֵ֤שׂ שַׁדַּ֓י מְלָ֘כִ֤ים בָּ֗הּ 15a When Shaddai scatters kings on it—
תַּשְׁלֵ֥ג בְּצַלְמֽוֹן׃ 15b it will snow on Zalmon.
הַר־אֱ֭לֹהִים הַר־בָּשָׁ֑ן 16a Mount Bashan is the mountain of “God”;
הַ֥ר גַּ֝בְנֻנִּ֗ים הַר־בָּשָֽׁן׃ 16b Mount Bashan is a many-peaked mountain.
לָ֤מָּה ׀ תְּֽרַצְּדוּן֮ הָרִ֪ים גַּבְנֻ֫נִּ֥ים 17a Why—mountains, many-peaked ones—, do you intently watch
הָהָ֗ר חָמַ֣ד אֱלֹהִ֣ים לְשִׁבְתּ֑וֹ 17b the mountain where God desired to dwell?
אַף־יְ֝הוָ֗ה יִשְׁכֹּ֥ן לָנֶֽצַח׃ 17c Indeed, YHWH will dwell [there] forever.
רֶ֤כֶב אֱלֹהִ֗ים רִבֹּתַ֣יִם אַלְפֵ֣י שִׁנְאָ֑ן 18a God’s chariotry is countless—thousands upon thousands.
אֲדֹנָ֥י בָ֝֗ם סִינַ֥י בַּקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ 18b The Lord is among them—[the One] of Sinai is in [among them] his holiness.
עָ֘לִ֤יתָ לַמָּר֨וֹם ׀ שָׁ֘בִ֤יתָ שֶּׁ֗בִי 19a You went up on high, you took captives captive—
לָקַ֣חְתָּ מַ֭תָּנוֹת בָּאָדָ֑ם 19b you received gifts among mankind—
וְאַ֥ף ס֝וֹרְרִ֗ים לִשְׁכֹּ֤ן ׀ יָ֬הּ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ 19c and (you also took captive) rebels, that they may dwell with Yah God.
בָּ֤ר֣וּךְ אֲדֹנָי֮ 20a May the Lord be blessed!
י֤וֹם ׀ י֥וֹם יַֽעֲמָס־לָ֗נוּ 20b Daily he bears [our burden] for us—
הָ֘אֵ֤ל יְֽשׁוּעָתֵ֬נוּ סֶֽלָה׃ 20c God our salvation, selah.
הָ֤אֵ֣ל ׀ לָנוּ֮ אֵ֤ל לְֽמוֹשָׁ֫ע֥וֹת 21a God is a God of deliverance for us.
וְלֵיהוִ֥ה אֲדֹנָ֑י לַ֝מָּ֗וֶת תּוֹצָאֽוֹת׃ 21b And the ways of escape from death belong to YHWH the Lord.
אַךְ־אֱלֹהִ֗ים יִמְחַץ֮ רֹ֤אשׁ אֹ֫יְבָ֥יו 22a Indeed, God will crush the heads of his enemies—
קָדְקֹ֥ד שֵׂעָ֑ר מִ֝תְהַלֵּ֗ךְ בַּאֲשָׁמָֽיו׃ 22b the hairy crown of the one who walks about in his guilt.
אָמַ֣ר אֲ֭דֹנָי מִבָּשָׁ֣ן אָשִׁ֑יב 23a The Lord said, ‘I will bring [you] back from Bashan.
אָ֝שִׁ֗יב מִֽמְּצֻל֥וֹת יָֽם׃ 23b I will bring [you] back from the depths of the sea
לְמַ֤עַן ׀ תִּֽמְחַ֥ץ רַגְלְךָ֗ בְּ֫דָ֥ם 24a so that your foot may wade in blood.
לְשׁ֥וֹן כְּלָבֶ֑יךָ מֵאֹיְבִ֥ים מִנֵּֽהוּ׃ 24b As for the tongues of your dogs, their portion will be from enemies.
רָא֣וּ הֲלִיכוֹתֶ֣יךָ אֱלֹהִ֑ים 25a Your processions are seen, God—
הֲלִ֘יכ֤וֹת אֵלִ֖י מַלְכִּ֣י בַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ 25b the processions of my God, my king, into the sanctuary.
קִדְּמ֣וּ שָׁ֭רִים אַחַ֣ר נֹגְנִ֑ים 26a The singers went in front, the musicians behind,
בְּת֥וֹךְ עֲ֝לָמ֗וֹת תּוֹפֵפֽוֹת׃ 26b among all the young women playing drums.
בְּֽ֭מַקְהֵלוֹת בָּרְכ֣וּ אֱלֹהִ֑ים 27a Bless God in the assembly!
יְ֝הוָ֗ה מִמְּק֥וֹר יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ 27b [Bless] YHWH, you who are from the source of Israel!
שָׁ֤ם בִּנְיָמִ֨ן ׀ צָעִ֡יר רֹדֵ֗ם 28a There is Benjamin, the young one, ruling them.
שָׂרֵ֣י יְ֭הוּדָה רִגְמָתָ֑ם 28b [There are] the princes of Judah with their nobility.
שָׂרֵ֥י זְ֝בֻל֗וּן שָׂרֵ֥י נַפְתָּלִֽי׃ 28c [There are] the princes of Zebulun, [there are] the princes of Naphtali.
צִוָּ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ עֻ֫זֶּ֥ךָ 29a Your God has commanded your strength.
עוּזָּ֥ה אֱלֹהִ֑ים ז֝֗וּ פָּעַ֥לְתָּ לָּֽנוּ׃ 29b Show your strength, God, You who have acted for us!
מֵֽ֭הֵיכָלֶךָ עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם 30a Because of your temple [which is] above Jerusalem,
לְךָ֤ יוֹבִ֖ילוּ מְלָכִ֣ים שָֽׁי׃ 30b kings will bring gifts to you.
גְּעַ֨ר חַיַּ֪ת קָנֶ֡ה 31a Rebuke the beast of the reed,
עֲדַ֤ת אַבִּירִ֨ים ׀ בְּעֶגְלֵ֬י עַמִּ֗ים 31b the herd of bulls among the calves—the people—
מִתְרַפֵּ֥ס בְּרַצֵּי־כָ֑סֶף 31c those who trample down others by crushing them for silver!
בִּזַּ֥ר עַ֝מִּ֗ים קְרָב֥וֹת יֶחְפָּֽצוּ׃ 31d He has scattered people that delight in battles.
יֶאֱתָ֣יוּ חַ֭שְׁמַנִּים מִנִּ֣י מִצְרָ֑יִם 32a Nobles will come from Egypt.
כּ֥וּשׁ תָּרִ֥יץ יָ֝דָ֗יו לֵאלֹהִֽים׃ 32b Cush will hasten his hands towards God.
מַמְלְכ֣וֹת הָ֭אָרֶץ שִׁ֣ירוּ לֵאלֹהִ֑ים 33a Sing to God, kingdoms of the earth!
זַמְּר֖וּ אֲדֹנָ֣י סֶֽלָה׃ 33b Sing praises to the Lord—selah—
לָ֭רֹכֵב בִּשְׁמֵ֣י שְׁמֵי־קֶ֑דֶם 34a to him who rides on the highest heavens of old!
הֵ֥ן יִתֵּ֥ן בְּ֝קוֹלוֹ ק֣וֹל עֹֽז׃ 34b Look! He raises his voice—a mighty voice.
תְּנ֥וּ עֹ֗ז לֵֽאלֹ֫הִ֥ים 35a Ascribe strength to God!
עַֽל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל גַּאֲוָת֑וֹ 35b His greatness is over Israel,
וְ֝עֻזּ֗וֹ בַּשְּׁחָקִֽים׃ 35c and his strength is in the skies.
נ֤וֹרָ֥א אֱלֹהִ֗ים מִֽמִּקְדָּ֫שֶׁ֥יךָ 36a You, God, are awesome from your sanctuary.
אֵ֤ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל 36b The God of Israel—
ה֤וּא נֹתֵ֨ן ׀ עֹ֖ז וְתַעֲצֻמ֥וֹת לָעָ֗ם 36c he gives strength and might to the people.
בָּר֥וּךְ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ 36d Blessed be God!

שָׂרֵ֥י זְ֝בֻל֗וּן שָׂרֵ֥י נַפְתָּלִֽי׃ 28c [There are] the princes of Zebulun, [there are] the princes of Naphtali.
צִוָּ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ עֻ֫זֶּ֥ךָ 29a Your God has commanded your strength.
עוּזָּ֥ה אֱלֹהִ֑ים ז֝֗וּ פָּעַ֥לְתָּ לָּֽנוּ׃ 29b Show your strength, God, You who have acted for us!
מֵֽ֭הֵיכָלֶךָ עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם 30a Because of your temple [which is] above Jerusalem,
לְךָ֤ יוֹבִ֖ילוּ מְלָכִ֣ים שָֽׁי׃ 30b kings will bring gifts to you.
גְּעַ֨ר חַיַּ֪ת קָנֶ֡ה 31a Rebuke the beast of the reed,
עֲדַ֤ת אַבִּירִ֨ים ׀ בְּעֶגְלֵ֬י עַמִּ֗ים 31b the herd of bulls among the calves—the people—
מִתְרַפֵּ֥ס בְּרַצֵּי־כָ֑סֶף 31c those who trample down others by crushing them for silver!
בִּזַּ֥ר עַ֝מִּ֗ים קְרָב֥וֹת יֶחְפָּֽצוּ׃ 31d He has scattered people that delight in battles.
יֶאֱתָ֣יוּ חַ֭שְׁמַנִּים מִנִּ֣י מִצְרָ֑יִם 32a Nobles will come from Egypt.
כּ֥וּשׁ תָּרִ֥יץ יָ֝דָ֗יו לֵאלֹהִֽים׃ 32b Cush will hasten his hands towards God.
מַמְלְכ֣וֹת הָ֭אָרֶץ שִׁ֣ירוּ לֵאלֹהִ֑ים 33a Sing to God, kingdoms of the earth!
זַמְּר֖וּ אֲדֹנָ֣י סֶֽלָה׃ 33b Sing praises to the Lord—selah—
לָ֭רֹכֵב בִּשְׁמֵ֣י שְׁמֵי־קֶ֑דֶם 34a to him who rides on the highest heavens of old!
הֵ֥ן יִתֵּ֥ן בְּ֝קוֹלוֹ ק֣וֹל עֹֽז׃ 34b Look! He raises his voice—a mighty voice.
תְּנ֥וּ עֹ֗ז לֵֽאלֹ֫הִ֥ים 35a Ascribe strength to God!
עַֽל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל גַּאֲוָת֑וֹ 35b His greatness is over Israel,
וְ֝עֻזּ֗וֹ בַּשְּׁחָקִֽים׃ 35c and his strength is in the skies.
נ֤וֹרָ֥א אֱלֹהִ֗ים מִֽמִּקְדָּ֫שֶׁ֥יךָ 36a You, God, are awesome from your sanctuary.
אֵ֤ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל 36b The God of Israel—
ה֤וּא נֹתֵ֨ן ׀ עֹ֖ז וְתַעֲצֻמ֥וֹת לָעָ֗ם 36c he gives strength and might to the people.
בָּר֥וּךְ אֱלֹהִֽים׃ 36d Blessed be God!
