Who is Who in the Psalms?

Introduction

C. M. Erwich, Who is Who in the Psalms? Coreference Resolution as Exegetical Tool for Participant Analysis in Biblical Texts (2021) [PhD-Thesis - Research and graduation internal, Vrije Universeteit Amsterdam].

Category: Method:Participant Analysis.

Summary

Erwich frames his research in the following way:

Standing in the research tradition as it has been developed at the Eep Talstra Centre for Bible and Computer, this study addresses the problem of a lack of linguistic participant analysis studies in the entire Psalms corpus. The lacuna is further addressed by developing a methodology and an algorithm that can analyse reference data in both narrative and poetic texts. In addition, the aim is to generate reproducible participant data with an algorithm that is explainable and adjustable. This approach is unprecedented.[1]
