Template:RenderAssumptions

This is the template RenderAssumptions, called whenever the assumptions stored as data are to be rendered elsewhere. It takes the SECOND parameter (which is often the first one requested, unless the pagename is suppressed) and prints it out as a bulleted list.

  • YHWH is merciful (Ex. 34:6-7).

  • In the Psalms, sickness is closely linked with sin" (Pss. 41:4; 107:17-20)."

  • David is physically ill.

  • Sickness may come from YHWH and is perceived to be more directly connected to divine activity than are other distressing situations, such as enemies (2 Sam. 24:13-15), though these too ultimately come from YHWH.

  • Sickness may be a form of divine punishment (2 Sam. 24:13-15; see SDBH on נֶגַע).
