1a
A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day.
2a
It is right to praise YHWH
2b
and [it is right] to sing praise to your name, Most High.
3a
[It is right] to declare your loyalty in the morning
3b
and [it is right to declare] your faithfulness at night.
4a
[It is right to praise YHWH] with a ten-stringed instrument and with a harp,
4b
with a soft melody on a lyre.
5a
For you have made me rejoice, YHWH, by your action;
5b
In the work of your hands I rejoice.
6a
How great are your works, YHWH!
6b
Your plans are so deep.
7a
Stupid people do not know [this]
7b
and fools do not understand this:
8a
when wicked people flourish like a green plant
8b
and any evildoers prosper,
8c
[this is] for them to be destroyed forever,
9a
but you are on high forever, YHWH.
10a
For look, your enemies, YHWH—
10b
for look, your enemies will perish;
10c
all evildoers will be scattered,
11a
and you will lift up my horn like a wild ox,
11b
my old age [will be] fresh like oil,
12a
and my eyes will look upon my enemies;
12b
my ears will hear those who rise up against me, wicked people.
13a
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree;
13b
like a cedar tree in Lebanon he will grow.
14a
[They will be] transplanted in the house of YHWH;
14b
in the courtyards of our God they will flourish.
15a
They will still thrive in old age;
15b
they will be vigorous and fresh
16a
in order that people declare that YHWH, my rock, is fair
16b
and there is no injustice in him.
