Step 1: Load basic table (by clauses, from discourse sheet)[ ]

Prepare[ ]

To enable this, you must:

  1. Open the Discourse Google sheet for this Psalm.
  2. Add a new tab named "Public-Text" (the name isn't actually critical)
  3. Use as the formula in the top-left cell: ='Discourse Master Sheet'!A:A (or whatever the appropriate code is to select the first column of the master sheet).
  4. Drag the formula over to Column C and down as far as needed to get all the rows.
  5. File > Share > Publish to Web
  6. Instead of Entire Document, choose sheet Public-Text
  7. Instead of Web Page, choose Tab-separated values.
  8. Copy the link starting from after /d/e until before the &single, e.g. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTeE2dD9gc2v4rckm23VfBCDdpuLirI3DOxLQE10a2UHWl3puz8wPPCJ2wgBftP4VYqadCPb2pWOUwi/pub?gid=168152279&single=true&output=tsv
  9. Edit the base Psalm page, e.g. Psalm 19
  10. Add the DiscourseSheet property like this:
{{ResourceSite
|DiscourseSheet=2PACX-1vTeE2dD9gc2v4rckm23VfBCDdpuLirI3DOxLQE10a2UHWl3puz8wPPCJ2wgBftP4VYqadCPb2pWOUwi/pub?gid=168152279

Only for psalms with no Discourse sheet! (Already done!)

Load into Psalm 11/Text/Lines the basic text in this format:

! class="verse-cell" | Verse
! class="cbc-cell" | Text (CBC)
|-

| class="verse-cell" | 1b

Step 2: Wrap[ ]

Words already wrapped.

Click this button to separate the individual words, each wrapped in an HTML span.

Click this button to add clickable spaces between words. This enables merging.

Steps 3 & 4: Split & Align[ ]

To split the Hebrew words, use the mouse to click where words should be split. (Normal) click BETWEEN words to merge (undo splitting).

To align with English, first select a Hebrew word, then click all the English words aligned with it. These are the English words that will be highlighted every time you hover over the relevant Hebrew word (and vice versa). Shift-click to undo the aligning.

Shortcuts:

  • Once a Hebrew word is highlighted, TAB will highlight the next one.
  • Once an English word has been aligned, ; (SEMI-COLON) will align the next one. RIGHT arrow and LEFT arrow will move the English selection.

Step 5: Save[ ]

Since this is all done through Javascript, you need to both save the alignment as well as this page.
