From Psalms: Layer by Layer
Jump to: navigation, search

Starting on the Resource Site from scratch

1. Raw wikitext for lines of Hebrew and the CBC

Note: ChatGPT can often do this for you! I'll copy and paste the 3 textboxes, for instance, from Miro, and give them to ChatGPT. (Expand to view)

2. Actual text table

Build the actual text table with elements and alignments between Hebrew and English. Entering: Psalm #/Text/Table

3. Sections

This form is used for both overlays and sections, speaker & addressee. They can all be done separately. Start by entering Sections (you'll have to click the checkbox at the bottom for them to show up).

Verify if the sections are working with code like this:

{{Psalm/Table |Chapter=1|speakerbars=no}}

4. Speaker & Addressee

The order doesn't matter here, but this is done the same way as sections. By default, right now it's all stored in Psalm #/Sections, but soon we'll move that to another file.

When this is done, you'll be able to see the At-a-Glance:

{{Psalm/Table |Chapter=19|class=at-a-glance}}

5. Expanded Paraphrase

With this form, you click in the English to "insert" some text, namely, for the sake of an expanded paraphrase.

I don't yet have a function readily displaying it, but you can simply transclude the page, e.g.

{{:Psalm 19/Expanded Paraphrase}}

6. Additional overlays (e.g. participants)

You can enter anything (we need naming conventions!!) as the filename here, and it'll simply save your overlay.

When all done, it should show up like this:

{{Psalm/Table |Chapter=19|sections=no|annotations=Participants|colors=no|class=participants}}
