Notes:

  • YHWH is only absent in v. 8, where he switches from third person (vv. 1-7) to first (vv. 9-11).
  • The congregation evolves from first person (vv. 1-2; 6-7a) to second (vv. 7b-9a). After appearing only as a suffix in v. 9a, they disappear.
  • The ancestors do not appear until v. 9, but remain consistently in third person until the end of the psalm.
  • "The 2nd pl provides a pivot for the psalm. It is the axis around which the 1st and 3rd persons are transformed from singular to plural and vice versa" (Van Petegem 2008, 244; la 2e p. fait figure de pivot du psaume. Elle est l’axe autour duquel la 1e et la 3e personne se transforment d’un singulier en un pluriel et vice versa)
