Ps 95:9 is a rare instance in which בחן is used for humans testing God (perhaps only elsewhere in Mal 3:10, 15), not vice versa (as in Pss 7:10; 11:4f; 17:3; 26:2; 66:10; 81:6; 139:23, among others).
