Psalm 95/Notes/Grammar.1.618660
From Psalms: Layer by Layer
v. 1b – For the alternative apposition, see the LXX and Syr.[1], who's interpretation may be influenced by their tendency to consistently read צוּר as an appellation for God. The NET is comparable: "Let us shout out praises to our Protector who delivers us" (cf. TOB) though the NJPS is a somewhat freer paraphrase: "raise a shout for our rock and deliverer" (cf. DHH).
- ↑ These read τῷ θεῷ τῷ σωτῆρι ἡμῶν "to God our savior" and ܠܐܠܗܢ ܦܪܘܩܐ "to God the savior", respectively.
