The basic meaning of תִרְצֶה is "to desire" (cf. note on v. 20), which works very well in this context in parallel to תַחְפֹּץ. The verb רצה is often glossed "accept" in sacrificial contexts,[1] since only sacrifices that please the deity are deemed acceptable and hence efficacious.
