v. 4 – The כִּי at the beginning of this verse grounds the entire content of v. 3 (see, e.g. the intentional choices in Targum Psalms, Jerome, and Symmachus).[1]

  1. These provide ארום, enim, and γάρ, respectively, in place of the expected מטול ד, quoniam and ὅτι, if כִּי were to be understood as a subordinating conjunction.
