The lamed preposition in the phrase "laugh [at them (למו)]... mock them (למו)" indicates the entity negatively affected by the action,[1] the object of scorn and mockery (cf. Ps 22:8—יַלְעִגוּ לִי; Ps 37:13—יִשְׂחַק לוֹ).
