- The noun נַחֲלָה usually refers to “inalienable, thus enduring, property, esp. land, which devolves (נפל) upon individuals or a group as a grant (נתן ← לקח ← חלק), as an inheritance (עבר) or through dispossession of the prior owner.”[1]
