BEAUTY. POWER. POETRY.

Retreats that bring biblical Hebrew poetry to life.

The nations are now hearing God’s voice in the poetry of the Psalms.

Do you? Does your church?

We know God’s Word is powerful—or is supposed to be. But we don’t always experience it.

Scriptura is changing that. Our team is uncovering the incredible beauty and power in biblical Hebrew poetry for Bible translation teams across the globe.

The Psalms are coming to life across the world. Let us help them come to life for you and your church, too!

Retreat formats

  • Half-day immersive workshop
  • One-day deep-dive
  • Two-day full retreat

First built for Bible translators. Now designed for anyone who wants to understand and engage the Psalms—for transformation.

Why these retreats work

Faith is not a spectator sport. Only when you participate does faith grow.

Our retreats are the result of collaboration between:

  • Biblical scholars who enable deep understanding,
  • Translation experts who know how to communicate across cultures, and
  • Artists who know how people engage—heart and soul.

This is the secret to retreats that nourish the mind as well as the heart and soul.

A glimpse of our retreat content: Psalm 23

The main idea of Psalm 23 is its central words: “for you are with me.” What is clear in Hebrew poetry often does not come through in English. One way to capture the effect is by repeating the main idea after each line—the poetry invites meditation on God’s presence.

The Lord is my shepherd,
— and he is with me
I lack nothing,
— because he is with me
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
— and he is with me
He leads me beside quiet waters,
— and he is with me
He refreshes my sould
— because he is with me
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,
— because you are with me
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies,
— and you stay with me
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.
— because you are with me
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
— and you will be with me!

“Honestly, I came to the workshop skeptical that it was possible to retain biblical accuracy while also doing something artistic. I’m converted.”

“Elizabeth, when you speak, sometimes it’s more powerful than any sermon I’ve heard.”
