In the ancient Israelite conceptual world, the Idealised Conceptual Model of אור in the physical domain is projected onto the personal domain and used to organise concepts in the emotional subdomain, the moral subdomain, and the relational subdomain of human personal experience. In the emotional subdomain, BH uses the concepts of light and darkness to conceptualise pleasant and unpleasant emotions; BH also uses the concepts of light and darkness to conceptualise the categories of good and evil in the moral subdomain.
