Canonical Setting

Psalms 1 and 2 form the introduction to the Psalter with the themes of wisdom, that law, the righteous versus the wicked, and kingship.

Structure

  1. Praise for the righteous
  2. Lament for the wicked
  3. Statement
    1. The wicked will not stand
    2. The Lord watches over the righteous
